Tour Boston’s Freedom Trail with Ben Edwards – A Relative of Paul Revere
EARLY Registration is NOW OPEN for our FREE Summer 2025 Freedom Trail Teacher Programs. Attendance is limited to 12 teachers per date.
What You’ll Experience in this Program:
Your host Ben Edwards has been a private tour guide in Boston for two decades. During that time he has worked with hundreds of teachers and thousands of students from schools in the New England states. Ben’s Edwards ancestors lived in Boston for over 150 years and one of them, Sally Edwards, married silversmith Paul Revere Jr., firstborn son of patriot Paul Revere.
On this Freedom Trail tour you’ll enjoy Ben’s storytelling and learn some of the strategies he uses to keep students interested and engaged. You’ll visit the following sites: Boston Common, Massachusetts State House, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King’s Chapel, King’s Chapel Burying Ground, Boston Latin School Site, Benjamin Franklin Statue, Old Corner Bookstore, Old South Meeting House, Old State House, Boston Massacre Site, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Admission fees are required at many of the sites.
You’ll hold and read some wonderful primary sources from Ben’s personal collection including rare documents signed by John Hancock and participants in the Boston Tea Party, along with original colonial newspapers with ads for Paul Revere’s many businesses.
Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of Ben’s children’s book One April in Boston that tells the story of his early Boston ancestors, their connection to Paul Revere, and the start of the American Revolution. The book also has an underlying theme of goal setting for children. Free audiobook edition is included.
As an added treat, the group will stop along the tour route at Parker’s Restaurant in the historic & haunted Omni Parker House Hotel for complimentary Boston Cream Pie and Parker House Rolls.
